Description:
Experienced and proactive Remote Operations Shift Manager required to ensure the safe, efficient remote operation and remote monitoring of significant manufacturing plants situated around the world on a 24-hour basis.
Our client is part of a multi-billion-pound global organisation employing more than 70 staff in more than 80 countries and is recognised as a market leader in their niche manufacturing sector. As a result of continued success and a positive restructuring exercise, they are now seeking to recruit a number of Remote Operations Shift Manager professionals to complement their established and professional team.
Based near Rotherham, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient remote operation and remote monitoring of significant manufacturing plants situated around the world on a 24-hour basis. Responsibilities include investigating plant issues, managing plant disturbances, reporting plant performance issues, KPI monitoring, and alarm management as they may arise.
You will oversee plant start-up operations to ensure that customer demand is managed appropriately to minimise cost to the business and conduct plant efficiency evaluations on an ongoing basis to identify performance issues and make recommendations for continuous improvements, whilst ensuring the ongoing operation of the plants to minimise Process Safety implications and ensure Production and Process KPIs are upheld.
Realistically qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant electrical, instrumentation, chemical engineering, or chemical process subject, you will ideally have completed a time-served apprenticeship and demonstrate commercial experience gained within an Oil, Gases, Petrochemical, or pharmaceutical/chemical process environment (including fractional distillation and high-pressure transfer schemes and pipelines).
You will possess previous experience in control room operation and using process interfaces such as HMI software / SCADA / PCS7 Siemens for remote monitoring and control purposes and be skilled in reading and working with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), plant schematics, and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
With your ability to troubleshoot, fault find, and investigate process issues using data trending applications, previous plant commissioning experience would be advantageous. You will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship management skills at all levels while working both autonomously and as part of a team within a control room environment.
