Job description

Reliability Engineer - Permanent - Hertfordshire

A long standing pharmaceutical client of Blackfield Associates is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join their dynamic Engineering team on a permanent basis working days, Monday to Friday.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with Utilities, Facilities and Engineering teams to identify and mitigate reliability risks. You will play a key role in implementing effective reliability processes, improving overall equipment performance, and reducing downtime and costs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing and sustaining a world-class reliability program aligned with cGMP and GEP standards.
  2. Conducting root cause analyses to reduce losses and optimize processes.
  3. Performing asset analyses (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, TEEP) to enhance operational efficiency.
  4. Guiding teams in reliability risk assessments, including FMEA, RCA, and TPM.
  5. Providing training in diagnostic troubleshooting, predictive technologies, and modern maintenance strategies.
Minimum Requirements
  1. A degree in engineering or related discipline.
  2. Experience in reliability engineering practices (e.g., RCA, FMEA).
  3. Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  4. Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
  5. Awareness of health, safety, and quality management systems.
Desirable Skills
  1. Knowledge of CMMS
  2. Predictive maintenance techniques
  3. Six Sigma methodology
