Role/ Department:

As part of 1st line of defense, the Regulatory Risk Management team is responsible for governing frameworks and accountability models that understand current regulatory obligations, mitigates regulatory risk, and enables compliance with new regulations. The team focuses on the development, adoption and oversight of activities, framework and accountability models related to the management of regulatory risk across the business and supports this mandate across four key pillars: Regulatory Framework & Governance, Regulatory Change Oversight, Regulatory Risk Management Regulatory Strategy & Sustainability.

The role supports the EMEA Head of Regulatory Risk Management to identify and oversee areas of regulatory change and remediation, working alongside other 1st and 2nd line of defense Business, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure alignment on implementation and regulatory sustainability in BAU. This role will also support the reporting of regulatory risk management readiness to senior business leaders.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Actively lead and support the embeddedness of the regulatory change and relevant regulatory accountability across the business.
  • Partner with relevant regulatory stakeholders within the business and across all Lines of Defence to understand the applicability of the regulatory landscape, understand how regulatory risk is managed and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with Business and operational leaders to quickly identify and create effective and sustainable solutions for resolving regulatory risk issues.
  • Contribute to the production and review of appropriate Regulatory Risk Management metrics, ensuring their accuracy and relevance in supporting the Regulatory Risk Management strategy.
  • Identify, validate and oversee remediation of “hotspot” areas of regulatory risk impacting Asset Servicing as a result of assurance findings and issues consequent to regulatory change implementations.
  • Contribute to the wider Regulatory Risk Management team and communication to business stakeholders.
  • Enable the Businesses with production of Regulatory horizon scanning and future planning, including engagement with industry working groups where applicable.
  • Assists management to work towards the Company’s strategic goals.

  • Previous experience in a regulatory program management environment
  • Strong analytical skills, able to present and interpret data to ‘tell the story’
  • Ability to connect the dots across functional lines and think out of the box
  • Ability to identify problems, develop and communicate solutions
  • Able to manage the detail and drive execution while maintaining a strategic view
  • Deliver to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to interact and manage expectations with senior level audiences, stakeholders and management
  • A strong and proven ability to analyse, break down and explain complex issues in non-technical language
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change, with a positive attitude and vision to continually enhance / strengthen current status quo
  • Demonstrable ability to influence and persuade others (e.g. peers, partners, senior management and external parties) to implement change, strategy and decision making in a diverse and matrix environment
  • Strong project management experience, particularly in relation to Regulation implementation and oversight
  • Previous people management experience preferred but not essential
