About the role:

As a Regulatory Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring Tide complies with the evolving regulatory requirements set by the FCA and other regulators. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks, while ensuring that Tide’s compliance frameworks are embedded across the business.

Working closely with teams across the organisation, including Product, Member Operations, Payments, Marketing, Legal and Finance, you will provide expert advice on regulatory developments, lead compliance initiatives, and integrate regulatory requirements into our day-to-day operations.

As the subject matter expert on particular regulations, you’ll help to steer decisions, impact strategies and support the rest of the team and business. At Tide, you’ll be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with cross-team exposure, inquisitive freedom and the ability to impact how Tide conducts its business.

As a Regulatory Risk & Compliance Specialist you'll be :

  • Assisting in executing the compliance monitoring plan, being responsible for the monitoring and actions or engaging others where necessary.
  • Researching regulations and regulatory changes and helping assess the impact on Tide.
  • Working with business areas to prepare regulatory reports and to respond to regulatory requests for information inclusive of oversight checks.
  • Working with business areas to research regulatory requirements in support of product or service development.
  • Keeping policies across the business up to date and tracking where refreshers are required.
  • Supporting the Head of Compliance and the Regulatory Risk & Compliance Manager.
  • Participating in and driving meetings of the working group responsible for Regulatory Risk & Compliance.
  • Liaison point for our partners with oversight requests.
  • Coordinating risk and compliance-related training.
  • Engaging with other teams to collect and prepare MI to be provided to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Tracking regulatory deadlines, filing submissions, maintaining a log of contact with regulators, and helping prepare for regulatory meetings and visits.
  • Interacting directly with other teams to monitor internal requests & demands
  • Work with the 1LOD to remediate regulatory oversight findings.
  • Be involved in the identification, rating and monitoring of regulatory risks.
  • Participating in audit exercises and the completion of remediation actions from audits.

What makes you a great fit:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Compliance/Risk role at a senior level.
  • You are familiar with FCA, PSR, EMI, or Payments regulations such as: the FCA handbook (e.g. BCOBS, SYSC, PRIN) Safeguarding and SMCR regulations, Open Banking regulations, such as UK Payment Service Regulations 2017 , the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) and the OBIE/EBA Guidelines.
  • You have experience with FCA interaction, including addressing FCA responses, supporting the business on regulatory notifications and enquiries, both ad hoc and thematic reviews.
  • You have experience performing an oversight position, monitoring KRIs obtained from the business as well as providing Compliance Advisory to business teams in new initiatives and products.
  • You have prior experience working in a Banking, FinTech, Payments/E-money Firms, or Consultancy organisation.
  • You are preferred if you have experience working in a FinTech organisation and/or the FCA or other relevant regulator.
  • You are preferred if you are familiar with Credit Broking regulations and guidelines.
  • You are comfortable interpreting regulations and knowing where to search for regulations.
  • You are proactive with a can-do attitude, taking ownership of resolving issues.
  • You have exceptional organisational skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have meticulous attention to detail with strong drafting and analytical skills.
