Regulatory (Health & Safety) Investigations Solicitor/Barrister 2+ years’ PQE/Call LEEDS

Commercial law firm in Leeds is seeking to recruit a Regulatory (Health & Safety) Investigations Solicitor/Barrister with 2 or more years’ PQE/Call. The team offers a broad range of expert advice to organisations and individuals facing Health & Safety, criminal, environmental, CQC and other regulatory prosecutions. They also advise individuals facing possible criminal and professional regulatory sanctions, as well as individuals and organisations requiring advice and representation at inquests. This role will primarily focus on Health & Safety regulatory investigations, White Collar Crime and inquiries arising principally in the transport and logistics sector.

On the Health & Safety side, the successful candidate can expect to undertake the following:

1. Providing health and safety advice to corporates and individuals on an ongoing basis.
2. Undertaking training exercises for clients on health and safety topics.
3. Completing compliance reviews on health and safety.
4. Conducting internal investigations for clients following a health and safety incident / near miss.
5. Representing clients during external investigations by the police/ HSE/ local authority including responding to interviews under caution and s.20 requests.
6. Representing clients that have been prosecuted for health and safety, food safety and fire safety matters.

Transport Regulatory work will include:

1. Advising clients on transport regulatory matters including all areas across the operator licensing regime regulated by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner.
2. Representing operators in PACE interviews with DVSA or other regulators.
3. Responding to DVSA investigations or desk-based assessments.
4. Undertaking training exercises for operators.
5. Representing operators at hearings before the Traffic Commissioners including Preliminary Hearings, Public Inquiries and Senior Team Leader Meetings.

Our client will consider Solicitors and Barristers who have at least some Regulatory experience in Health & Safety and/or Transport Regulatory.
