Job description

Opportunity:

A renowned international offshore law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Regulatory & Financial Services practice in London. The role is ideal for an ambitious lawyer with a strong academic background, technical expertise, and a proven ability to handle complex regulatory matters (contentious & non-contentious) across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified commonwealth lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in an international law firm.
  • Strong academic record coupled with top-level international legal experience.
  • Deep understanding of the financial services industry and global regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with excellent drafting abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative environment, often outside standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake cross-jurisdictional regulatory analysis and provide holistic solutions for multinational clients.
  • Advise on a wide range of non-contentious regulatory matters and contentious issues, including investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Assist clients with financial crime prevention and sanctions-related matters.
  • Provide technically sound advice across sectors such as banking, insurance, securities investment, fintech, and investment funds.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of client relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior counsel and partners on key firm matters and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
