About the Compliance Team and the Role

The Regulatory and Compliance team's primary focus is to ensure product formulation, specification, labelling and website compliance for all THG Nutrition and Beauty brands globally. THG owns and operates many leading brands including LookFantastic.com, Grow Gorgeous, Mio Skincare, ESPA and MyProtein.

THG is looking to recruit an India Regulatory & Compliance Officer with a good understanding of India Regulations pertaining to labelling of food and food supplements, to join our Regulatory & Compliance Team. The role reports into the Regulatory Manager, ANZ & Domestic Markets.

With a focus on brand protection, the Regulatory & Compliance Team plays a critical role in ensuring that our products can be marketed and sold legally all over the world. The role offers flexible working (1 day working at home a week) from our Head Office near Manchester Airport, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Global success of The Hut Group and our market-leading brands.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead role in upholding the local regulatory compliance of all Myprotein, Myvegan and Myvitamins products sold to India via D2C and Retail.
  2. Writing and maintaining finished product specifications for India market & reviewing raw material specifications for locally manufactured MyProtein products.
  3. Collecting and reviewing nutrition data for NPD/EPD launched in India to ensure labelled values are compliant locally.
  4. Reviewing labelling and marketing material to check that they are compliant with India regulatory requirements.
  5. Successful pre-market registration of all India products with FSSAI authorities working directly with local consultant.
  6. Advising on nutrition and health claims, ensuring they are correctly worded on product labelling and websites.
  7. Proactively identifying potential Regulatory / compliance issues and working together with the senior members of the team to reduce and/or eliminate their impact.
  8. Working closely with New Product Development (NPD) on new formulations to ensure compliance in India for THG Nutrition Brands including Myprotein, Myvegan, Myvitamins & MyPro.
  9. Reviewing company websites to check that content is compliant with India specific regulatory requirements.
  10. Upkeep and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of applicable Indian regulations and guidance.
  11. Managing and taking accountability of own workload.
  12. Establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with key stakeholders (NPD, Marketing, Brand, Commercial teams etc).

Requirements:

  1. Qualification in Food Technology, Food Law, Food Science, Food Safety or other related subject.
  2. Ideally 2-3 years' India regulatory experience within a relevant Compliance, Regulatory or specification management role within the food industry, ideally with experience in the food supplements category.
  3. Good understanding of regulations regarding Food / Food Supplements and usage of claims in India.
  4. Good understanding of food industry standard practices in India.
  5. Great attention to detail, strong communication skills, good time management skills.
  6. Ability to communicate across different departments e.g. NPD, India Trading, Brand, Marketing, SQA, QA, Packaging Artwork etc to ensure business needs are met.
  7. Good IT Skills - (Email, Excel, Word and SharePoint).
  8. Usage of product specification systems (especially Oracle Brand Compliance) would be desirable but not essential.
