About the Role:

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all European regulatory compliance requirements within our Trading, Shipping, and Operations functions are met, specially for seaborne products including LNG, Oil & Oil products, Carbon, Ammonia, and other New Energy products. You will act as focal point for all European regulators and will ensure all regulatory compliance activities are well understood and completed in a timely manner. The primary focus will be on EU regulatory obligations but will interact and co-ordinate with business units globally. The role is based in London and will report into Governance and Risk manager WETS.

Duties & Responsibilities:

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for European Regulatory compliance activities, ensuring all reporting requirements are documented and actioned in a timely manner, any system integration and improvement are managed, ad-hoc or emergent Regulatory compliance initiatives are captured. This role is the focal point for the Trading, Shipping, and Operations Division, so you will support team members with risk and compliance queries and actions. The position is also responsible for streamlining the Trading, Shipping, and Operations systems and processes regarding regulatory compliance activities.

On a personnel and team perspective, the position will:

  • Support Trading, Shipping, and Operations staff in the effective use, development, uptake and maintenance of regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support change management in relation to the regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Build best practices around compliance and risk culture.
  • Be responsible for building networks internally and externally (as appropriate) to Woodside.
  • Maintain standards of behaviour within team and across key interface relationships.
Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Degree qualification in Law, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, or Science with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role required.
  • Essential expertise in European Regulatory Compliance and EU trade policies.
  • Preferred experience in commodity trading, risk management, financial derivatives, governance, audit, general management, contracts, and procurement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate effectively with team members in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to influence, tenacity, and articulate views constructively.
  • Demonstrated strong analytic capability, accuracy, organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, competing priorities, and meeting deadlines is highly desirable.
