Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Registrar in Paediatrics on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Paediatrics department.


Our client is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year, and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as:

  1. Neonatal Unit/Children's Ward - ward rounds, discharge planning, acute admissions and general paediatric and neonatal work.
  2. Responsibility for either neonatal unit or Children's Ward, alternating with the other middle grade doctors.
  3. Regular attendance and active participation in outpatient clinics.
  4. Participation in overall supervision and education of junior doctors and medical students.
  5. Taking an active part in the department's education programme.
  6. Taking an active part in audit. An audit project is expected in this post.
