Regional Sales Representative – East Midlands
East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and surrounding areas)
Our business is built on strong partnerships with our customers, many of whom are leading UK restaurant chains and suppliers into the UK retailers. As we expand our presence in the East Midlands, we’re looking for a dedicated and dynamic Regional Sales Representative to join our team.
Role Overview:
As a Regional Sales Representative, you will be responsible for growing and managing sales across a defined territory, focusing on independent businesses and small scale wholesalers. You’ll act as the face of GCL in the region, offering tailored solutions, building long term relationships, and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Territory Development: Identify, approach, and onboard new customers in the independent restaurant, pub and hospitality sector.
- Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Product Expertise: Understand the full GCL product portfolio and be able to recommend appropriate solutions to suit each client’s needs.
- Sales Performance: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, reporting progress and opportunities through weekly updates.
- Market Insight: Keep up to date with competitor activity, customer trends, and industry developments in your territory.
- Promotion and Representation: Represent GCL at trade events, customer meetings, and tastings where required.
Qualifications
- Proven field sales experience, ideally in the food ingredients, FMCG, or wholesale sectors.
- A degree in a business related discipline is desirable.
- Solid achievements in GCSE Maths and English.
- Strong network and understanding of the East Midlands independent trade scene.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills.
- A self-motivated, target driven mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Sound organisational and territory planning skills.
- A drive for success, demonstrating resilience and determination in achieving sales goals.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within your area regularly.
