What we need, in a nutshell

We’re on the lookout for a health and safety guru with experience in open water leisure activities, and swimming pools. They will ensure all our leisure health and safety policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, updated, communicated, and most importantly adhered to, so that our guests, colleagues and any suppliers or contractors that visit us are as safe as they possibly can be.

What you’ll be doing

You will work as part of the Health and Safety team, reporting to the Head of Risk and Facilities Management. You will effectively communicate and drive the water safety agenda across the portfolio, through:

  • Completion and regular review NOP and EAP’s, risk assessments for all water activities.
  • Ensuring all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Carrying out audits, risk assessments, EQA and reviewing RLSS Tadah records.
  • Delivering Training in NPLQ, OWL, First Aid, PPO courses and other areas.
  • Establishing a structured programme of learning for NPLQ, Emergency Responder, PPO and TA mentoring.
  • Delivering training throughout Away Resorts as required for example, risk assessment, Normal operating procedures and Emergency action plan training, incident crisis, etc.
  • Keeping up to date with all aspects of relevant Leisure, health, safety and welfare at work legislation.
  • Providing regular reports to the Head of Risk and Facilities Management on relevant health and safety compliance across your region.
  • Participating in monthly meetings and company conferences when required to report/update on relevant health and safety matters.
  • Ensuring Day to Day compliance across the parks in your region using the Prime Compliance.
  • Building and supporting the competency of your other colleagues in water activity risk management.
  • Working as part of a team to cover other regions/parks where required and be part of the health and safety duty rota.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

If you can match the skills, experience and qualities listed below, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Professional qualification in Management of Leisure Operations or equivalent.
  • Desirable experience of working with Prime compliance.
  • Professional qualifications in NPLQ/OWL TA.
  • Desirable qualifications in Pool Plant Operator/First Aider tutor, NEBOSH Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience of handling accident investigations, writing risk assessments, NOP and EAP etc.
  • Experience of formulating, implementing, and revising leisure Health and Safety policies and procedures and auditing these.
  • Experience in running leisure-based training courses e.g. NPLQ and OWL.
