The role of the Regional Retail Operation Manager is to provide business insight and on-the-ground support to Retail, seek out areas for improvements and insight to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness in the EUK&ANZ region. The position requires taking an active role in building and maintaining key internal relationships, continually assessing, analyzing, and improving all operational aspects and providing business insight. Working closely with the global retail operation team to successfully implement projects or systems to the market. A high level of professionalism in all rounds of communication, reflecting company standards, contributing to efficiencies and implementing new processes are expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis & Sales Forecasting:
Work with individual functions to determine necessary information and develop automated reports to ensure that information is easily accessible.
Prepare internal and market analysis to highlight opportunities and provide insight to make business decisions.
Closely work with Retail Head and RBM (Retail Business Manager) to determine top line growth targets, monthly store targets, and KPIs to drive the business forward to the company goals.
Guide and coach Store Managers to review and analyze monthly P&L statements to identify and implement strategies to manage controllable expenses and drive profitability. - Retail Communications and Support:
Be the “centre of communication and key support” between retail team, office team, and global team to ensure effective communication and all retail-related initiatives.
Be responsible for the adherence of Retail to the Global operational guidelines and roll out to Retail any new technologies, policies, and procedures developed by the Global Retail Team.
Troubleshoot Retail operation problems with relevant divisions e.g. IT, Finance, etc., and provide administrative support for the retail team in a timely and effective manner.
Provide regular on-the-ground support to have a better understanding of the business. - Inventory Management:
In coordination with SCM, support stores in managing current and out-of-stock levels to meet business needs.
Coordinate regular cycle counts and biannual stocktakes in all retail stores.
Ensure all Order Calculators are submitted on time from stores and approve.
Assist in allocating and managing the dispatch of campaign materials and associated items.
Provide continuous analysis on retail performance as well as current processes and systems and their performance.
Strategic plan for sales improvement including Incentive plan - Make relevant suggestions for improvement.
Collaborate with the relevant parties to implement and spearhead any process improvements.
Work on relevant projects as and when the need arises.
Qualifications:
- 2-7 years of experience in retail operation with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Candidates from Arts/Toys/Entertainment preferred.
- Strong analytic skills in understanding the business and providing relevant business insight.
- Experience with retail scheduling and inventory systems as well as retail policies and processes.
- Exceptional communication skills in building strong connections with different stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively present and escalate ideas, suggestions, and problems.
- Hands-on, practical problem-solving and ability to complete tasks within set timeframes.
- Experience or strong mindset for working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
- Strong MS Office skills are a must.
