Job description

This is a remote position. The Eastern Regional Foodservice Sales Manager will be responsible for managing an established customer base, broker network, and identifying, pursuing, and obtaining new customers primarily in the domestic US foodservice market. The responsibility includes the full customer life cycle and the full order fulfillment cycle. The position is available as a remote position in the eastern US, preferably located in either of the Company's Idaho locations in Ririe, Idaho or Firth, Idaho.

Normal office working environment. Monday-Friday: 8:00am- 5:00pm, or as job requires.

Travel required - minimum of 10% or greater domestic travel. International travel may be required. Having a valid passport or ability to obtain one required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling and marketing dehydrated potatoes from all Company locations encompassing primarily the Foodservice market in the US but may also include limited Industrial and Bakery market segments. Foodservice market includes label groups, distributors, end-users, national and regional chains.
  • Managing existing foodservice broker base to achieve company goals- including performance reviews, hiring and dismissal.
  • Develop new customers by identifying prospects, making sales presentations, working with quality assurance/R&D department to identify existing current products - or to develop new products - to meet customer needs, arranging for product samples, providing product information, providing pricing and sales terms, working with accounting department to obtain credit approval, and closing the sale.
  • Manage a customer portfolio of assigned accounts and personally developed accounts through both direct customer relationships and brokers.
  • Responsible for the customer relationship management, including but not limited to negotiating sales (spot and contracts), working with the sales support staff and other departments to receive, process, ship approved sales orders, invoice, follow up on accounts receivable to ensure paid and maintained within approved terms, assist in any payment resolution of short payments, provide ongoing customer service as required.
  • Represent the Company at trade shows and related tasks with show requirements.
  • Travel to meet with customers at the required frequency to develop and maintain a good working relationship.
  • Take an active part in keeping customers' accounts current and within approved credit terms.
  • Assist in budgeting for sales volumes, pricing, expenses.
  • Assist in developing selling and marketing plans and materials.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven track record of the full sales life cycle, including prospecting for customers, making sales presentations, and closing sales, managing brokers, servicing a customer portfolio, and working with the sales and support teams to manage the sales process. Experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Proven sales and marketing experience.
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills.
  • Ability to close the sale using a variety of selling techniques.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a group and to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • College degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

Supervisory:

No direct supervisory responsibilities but will coordinate activities with sales assistants and other department staff.
