Interim Regeneration Manager
Location: Somerset
Contract: Interim - 9-Months
Our client, a local authority in Somerset, is seeking an experienced Regeneration Manager to lead a high-profile city centre regeneration programme. This role will involve managing a team of four staff and driving forward complex urban development projects in a challenging and fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large-scale regeneration projects, ensuring they align with the local authority's strategic objectives.
- Manage and support a team of four staff, providing direction and ensuring effective project execution.
- Work on-site, overseeing development activity, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring smooth project progression.
- Negotiate with multiple stakeholders, including developers, landowners, businesses, and public sector partners, to secure project success.
- Develop and implement strategies that support economic growth, placemaking, and long-term regeneration goals.
- Identify funding opportunities and ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
- Work closely with planning, infrastructure, and housing teams to ensure alignment with wider council objectives.
About You
- Proven experience in leading large-scale regeneration projects in complex urban environments.
- Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, making strategic decisions that balance development, economic growth, and community needs.
- Knowledge of regeneration policy, funding mechanisms, and local authority processes.
- Experience of working in a local government or public sector setting is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
