Location: Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans

Job Type: Permanent | Hours: 45 per week

Salary: £50,027.05 (includes standby pay) + overtime + travel time

Join a skilled team that keeps key retail sites running. You'll handle planned checks and quick fixes on refrigeration systems. You'll also lend a hand with HVAC units when needed.

You'll be the go-to engineer at your select few sites - trusted to keep everything working and safe.

The team runs 24/7 support through a shared standby rota. When you're on call, you're backed by training and systems that help you do your job right.

What You'll Do:

1. Fix issues thoroughly within agreed response times.
2. Flag problems that can't be repaired and suggest solutions.
3. Complete scheduled maintenance on time and fill in accurate reports.
4. Keep your compliance and technical logs updated.
5. Take your turn on the on-call rota - and let your manager know if you need cover.

What You'll Need:

Must-Have Skills:

1. NVQ or City & Guilds in Refrigeration
2. C&G 2079 (or similar CITB certificate)
3. Experience with refrigeration, electrical systems, air con, and mechanics

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Great to Have):

1. BS7671 (16th or 17th Edition)
2. Supermarket/commercial experience
3. Machine overhaul knowledge
4. Hydrocarbon and CO2 refrigerant training

We're Looking For Someone Who:

1. Communicates clearly, in writing and speech
2. Has 5+ years of solid experience
3. Holds a full UK driving license
4. Lives near Watford or nearby towns
