Job description

Job Title: Mobile Refrigeration Engineer
Location: South Midlands (Northampton, Luton, Cambridge)
Salary: Up to £48k (Door-to-Door Pay)
Working Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday (Flexible Start/Finish Times)
Call-Out Rota: 1 in 4 (Overtime paid at 1.5x rate)
Van & Fuel Card: Provided (Available for Private Use)
Tools: Specialist Tools Provided
Contract: Covering 200 stores.

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mobile Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to work across multiple sites in the South Midlands, maintaining refrigeration systems for some of the UK’s leading retailers.

Responsibilities:
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs (40% PPM, 60% reactive)

  • Installation & Small Works (approximately 5% of the role)

  • Maintain refrigeration equipment across key retail partners

  • Ensure adherence to SLA's (4-hour, 24-hour, 72-hour, 30-day)

  • Provide excellent customer service with a professional client-facing presence

  • Work efficiently to meet Health & Safety and company standards

  • Participate in a 1 in 4 call-out rota, ensuring swift responses to emergencies

Qualifications & Experience:
  • NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent in Refrigeration

  • F-Gas certification is essential

  • Hydrocarbon and CO2 handling experience is desirable

  • Previous experience in the refrigeration industry, ideally within commercial settings

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

  • Excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients
