Post Title: Recreation Assistant Site Location: BH Live Active - Mountbatten Centre - Portsmouth FTE Salary: £25,467 per annum from 1 April 25 Hours: Up to 40 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent Start Date: April 2025 The role:

BH Live is recruiting for Recreation Assistants to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Centre. Located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre, Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool & spa.

We are ideally looking for someone who already holds an NPLQ qualification but if you haven't, BH Live is one of the only employers to offer a fully funded National Pool Lifeguard Qualification & training (subject to a successful interview and swim test). This is a nationally recognised qualification and will supply you with lifelong skills, such as self-confidence, teamwork as well as the ability to save lives.

You will:

1. Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers
2. Ensure our customers are kept safe
3. Erect, dismantle and move equipment
4. Clean the centre and equipment

To be successful you will need:

1. Ideally you will have your NPLQ qualification, but this is not essential
2. Great customer service skills, initiative and the ability to remain calm under pressure is a must.
