Job description

Based at Acomb Garth Community Care Centre with the possibility of travelling between sites.

The role of the Receptionist is to support the Nimbuscare Team in the delivery of our services including GP Out of Hours and Community Diagnostics.

The postholder will be a friendly and welcoming first point of contact for our patients arriving for a face-to-face appointment.

You will ensure an efficient and professional reception provision and will work as part of the wider team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Experience in delivering a high standard of customer service is valued but full training for this role will be provided.

Main duties of the job
  1. To act as the main point of contact for patients & visitors arriving.
  2. Opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
  3. Respond to patient enquiries and signpost to appropriate healthcare professional.
  4. Maintain and monitor the SystmOne practice appointments system.
  5. Report and action facility issues and faults where required.
  6. Where appropriate, escalate Health & Safety and facility issues.
  7. To support the clinical teams working in our services with basic requests.
  8. To manage the waiting room area whilst patients wait to be seen.
  9. Interaction with patients to provide information, signposting, and advice.
  10. To demonstrate a competent level of interpersonal skills.
  11. Manage and prioritise own workload.
  12. Ensure the clinical rooms are stocked where appropriate.
  13. To support the Service Delivery Team with routine workload e.g. booking patients into clinics for other contracts / services.
  14. Any other duties as directed.
  15. Completion of administrative tasks as directed.

£7.55 to £12.21 an hour - National Minimum Wage according to age category.
