Part-Time Reception Teacher (0.8) – Supply Position
March 2025 start until end of the school year
Stoke-on-Trent primary school

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teacher looking for a rewarding part-time role? Academics have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Reception Teacher to join a friendly and supportive school in Stoke-on-Trent on a supply basis.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to thrive.
3. Assess, track, and support children’s progress to ensure they achieve their developmental milestones.
4. Implement and support phonics teaching using recognised frameworks to develop children’s early reading skills.
5. Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers to promote a holistic approach to education and care.
6. Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare.

Requirements

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Early Years teaching qualification.
2. Experience teaching within the EYFS, particularly Reception.
3. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and best practices in early years education.
4. Sound knowledge of phonics teaching, including the ability to effectively deliver phonics sessions and support children’s early reading development.
5. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic supply role.
7. A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
