Real Estate Litigation Associate

A highly reputable law firm is seeking a Real Estate Litigation Associate (2-4 PQE) to join their team in the London office. The Real Estate Litigation team provides exceptional legal services, with a primary focus on commercial property, telecoms, and real property disputes. This role offers a diverse and challenging caseload, along with outstanding professional development opportunities.

The department represents a diverse clientele, including:

• Commercial landlords and some tenants
• Investors and developers
• Social housing providers and ground rent funds

Essential Requirements: Experience of a range of commercial landlord and tenant, living sector, and real property issues is sought including some or all the following:

Commercial landlord and tenant:

• Advising on contested and uncontested lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, as well as issues relating to break notices and tenant insolvency.
• Handling matters involving rent recovery, forfeiture, breach of covenant, dilapidations, and service charge disputes.
• Providing guidance on alienation, lease obligations, and landlord-tenant negotiations.

Real property disputes:

• Advising on matters related to rights of light, nuisance claims, restrictive covenants, and easements.

Other:

• Telecoms (landowners)
• Fire safety issues (repairing and other obligations, fire safety legislation, service charge issues)

There are also opportunities to engage in sale and purchase disputes, development agreements, forward funding, and lease agreements, as well as planning disputes and complex transactional support.

The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy, allowing employees to work remotely from home or another UK location for at least 50% of their time. Additionally, individuals may request flexible working arrangements either during the recruitment process or throughout their employment.
