An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology team working as a Radiology Assistant.
You will be based at Airedale General Hospital, and will provide annual leave and sickness cover at our community hospitals.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This is a 3-week rolling rota comprising shifts of 08:30-16:30, 09:00-17:00, and 12:00-20:00. There is an additional weekend and bank holiday rota that you will participate in.
The department is moving to a 7-day working shift system in 2025, which will include weekends and bank holidays, and the successful candidate will participate in this.

Main Duties of the Job
To assist the Radiologists, Radiographic and Nursing staff in the smooth running of the DXA, Mammography, Plain Film service, Ultrasound, and interventional work over all the Airedale sites if required. This will involve:
- Greeting patients and changing them into gowns.
- Assisting with the procedure and giving personal care to patients, for example, toileting.
- Processing images and undertaking necessary clerical work.
- Liaising with wards and clinicians.
- Mentoring students as required.
The role is patient-focused, service-driven, and varied.

Job Responsibilities
- Receiving patients into the department at Airedale.
- Checking, booking, and amending patient details onto the department IT system.
- Coordinating patient lists to ensure patients are kept to time.
- Liaising with porters regarding ward patients using the electronic system.
- Checking patient information, including identification and preparation for examinations.
- Recording weight/height of patients where appropriate.
- Confirming examinations on the IT system upon completion.
- Using hospital administration and Radiology IT systems.
- Making appointments under guidance from lead Radiographers.
- General clerical duties as required.
- Assisting in changing patients when necessary or requested by a Radiographer.
- Assisting with safe moving and handling of patients.
- Assisting in the x-ray rooms, following service protocol and procedures manual.
