We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiographer to join our friendly team, to undertake a variety of plain film, dental, fluoroscopy, mobile and theatre examinations efficiently and effectively for our patients, adhering to best practice of radiographic technique.
Working within the Radiology department at FGH provides excellent opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of imaging procedures including trauma, MSK, paediatrics and oncology. The department is equipped with a Siemens DR room and a Phillips DR room as well as 2 Phillips DR mobiles, two GE image intensifiers and a brand new GE fluoroscopy suite.
The department carries out a full range of investigations, including MR, CT, US and SPECT Imaging. PACS was installed in April 2007 and updated in 2017.
Applications from final year students would also be welcome. This is a progressive directorate that supports CPD and role development.
Furness General Hospital is on the doorstep to the Lake District, the Trust is set in some of the most remarkable surroundings in the UK, facilitating an abundance of outdoor activities. There are many OFSTED "Good" and "Outstanding" Primary and Secondary schools nearby.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full ED's, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year per annum pro rata
