Job overview
The London Imaging Academy online learning platform is an exciting new educational platform that has been created for the Diagnostic Imaging community in the NHS, across London. This award nominated project is hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with NHS England and the five Imaging Academies in London. We are offering a Radiographer Education Co-Lead post to design and deliver online, self-paced educational content for Radiographers and Support Workers.
In addition, the London Imaging Academy holds Society of Radiographer Accreditation for a course delivering Intravenous (IV) Cannulation and Contrast Administration. The postholder will be responsible for delivery of this training to NHS colleagues across London. The expectation will be 1 day per week dedicated to each element of the role.
This post is suitable for senior Radiographers who are trained in Cannulation and Contrast Administration and wish to gain experience in educational project management, education content creation and delivery.
We have two vacancies for this role - post holders will be expected to work together to deliver cannulation training and work both together and independently to create educational content.
Main duties of the job
- Lead an effective training and education programme for the benefit of Radiographers and Support Workers across London, including producing online training materials on a variety of topics for the London Imaging Academy learning platform.
- Identify key areas of focus for educational content creation, both for Radiographers and Support Workers across London and deliver high quality educational materials, courses and programmes.
- Deliver specialist training in Intravenous (IV) Cannulation and Contrast Administration to all London NHS hospitals, maintaining Society and College of Radiographers accredited status.
- Where required, train NHS colleagues across London to deliver cannulation training (‘train the trainer’ programme development).
- Collaborate with Radiographers and Radiography Practice Educators across the London region and promote resource sharing, reduction of duplication of new training materials and collaboration.
- Produce, review and update training, and educational documents as required and lead on applications with accrediting bodies for course accreditation.
