Qualifications

Job description

Trust: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Ward: Radiology

Pay Rates: £22.99 per hour exc. WTD (Holiday Pay) £26.14 per hour inc. WTD (Holiday)

Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours Mon-Fri 8.30-5pm

Working as part of a team providing a plain film radiography service to A&E and main X-ray. Post holders will rotate through Theatres and provide mobile imaging on the wards.

Main duties of the job
  1. To work unsupervised in designated areas of imaging and out of hours asking advice when necessary and following protocols as appropriate.
  2. To undertake equipment quality assurance in line with QA Programme.
  3. Vet and accept imaging requests.
  4. Use imaging sequences appropriate to the patient's condition.
  5. Undertake plain film examinations on sedated or anaesthetised patients (adult and paediatric) using appropriate monitoring.
  6. Develop skills to interpret plain film images sufficient to discuss acquiring further images with a Consultant Radiologist within agreed protocols.
  7. The post holder will be required to develop skills to identify and mark abnormalities on plain films (Red Dot Procedure) in order to assist referring clinicians to interpret images.
