Job Title: Radiation Protection Opportunities

Working Pattern: 37 hours days

Working location: Derby Raynesway

Salary range: £44294 to £74145 K PA plus benefits depending on experience

At Rolls-Royce Submarines, we are building a highly skilled team of Radiation Protection professionals to support current nuclear operations as well as expanding into other markets and designing new nuclear facilities. Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum, we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing

Depending on your level of experience, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the following types of work:

  1. Providing advice and guidance to our operational nuclear facilities
  2. Guiding project teams to develop our future nuclear facilities
  3. Designing and delivering radiological training
  4. Assessing radiological hazards and designing control measures
  5. Other radiological work such as radioactive waste management, Class 7 Dangerous Goods advice, emergency response

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  1. Completed a STEM based degree or have an equivalent level of experience in the nuclear sector
  2. Completed recognised Health Physicist training or be willing to undergo such training as part of an accelerated development programme
  3. Experience of working in radiological environments, ideally within the nuclear industry
  4. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written forms
  5. Motivation to develop your own career and support the wider radiation protection team

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.
