The Vacancy

Aurora, an RSK company, is recruiting for an experienced Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) / Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) to join the team. Ideally, candidates will reside in one of the following regions: Oxfordshire, London, Scotland, or the North East. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent, and hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  1. Providing advice and information to Clients on all aspects of radiation safety and the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, standards, and guidance.
  2. Producing quality radiation protection advisory reports which help Clients understand what they need to do to comply.
  3. Providing radiation protection training courses in the form of presentations, initially under the supervision of experienced staff.
  4. Helping to develop Aurora's Training services, which will involve working with the Training Team to come up with innovative ideas on how to deliver training to Clients.
  5. Supporting experienced Site-Based staff in conducting radiological surveys using radiation detection instrumentation and then developing strategies to remediate areas.

Person Specification

  1. Holder of a Certificate of Competence as a Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) or Laser Protection Adviser (LPA), as issued by RPA2000.
  2. We would also be willing to hear from applicants who are close to submission of a portfolio to be an RPA or LPA.
  3. Travelling is part of the role, so you'll need a full UK driving license.
  4. Comfortable working within consultancy and site-based work.
  5. Self-motivated / Team Player.

  1. Salary £45,000 - £60,000 per annum.
