Job description

Did you know the length of Severn Trent’s water main pipes would wrap around the world just over once? Well, now you do.

It’s a big network, and a big responsibility. Every day 8 million people from Scunthorpe to Stroud rely on us to bring them clean water at the turn of a tap and take away their waste in one flush.

From planning, to digging, to inspecting we welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live. If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Working for Severn Trent, you will be serving the people of North Wales to ensure that their water supply is constant. As a Repair & Maintenance and Capital Projects Team Manager, you will be in charge of a dynamic and forward-thinking team of field operatives who will ensure that the repair and maintenance of our water network is completed on time and within budget while also taking part in capital projects such as main-laying to keep the water moving.

Are you a proven people manager with strong, proven experience in operational field working? This role could be your next career move.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

As our Capital Projects Team Manager, you will be part of our management team delivering R&M and network capital scheme projects across the whole of the STW region, thus being accountable for the timely delivery of all agreed standards on our works. Your objectives will include ensuring customers safely receive a constant supply of good quality drinking water in the area while managing resources (people, assets, IT, and finance) to meet our regulatory and company targets to ensure we deliver the highest standards for the lowest costs through great people.

You will lead and inspire an engaged team of field operatives to ensure that all works on the clean water network (pipework) are carried out in a manner where no one gets hurt as a result of the work we do, and our people are supported by your excellent performance management. You will also ensure that all capital network schemes are delivered safely, in accordance with required standards and timeframes.

We will be looking for you to have experience managing teams, ideally in an outside working environment. We will want you to take Health and Safety as seriously as we do, and if you have any related qualifications, that would be great. A full UK driving licence is required as you will need to travel to site.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent, and we’ll reward you for it too. We have a range of benefits that recognize great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. We’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.

With that in mind, here are just some of our favorite perks that you’ll get being part of the Severn Trent family:

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year)
  • Annual bonus scheme (up to £2,250 based on company performance and subject to eligibility)
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Dedicated training and development with our Academy
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Two paid volunteering days per year
