Our client, a design and manufacturing focused technology business, seeks to appoint an R&D Project Engineer. With a manufacturing facility near Wakefield (which you will work from) and an overseas design office (which you will visit, but not be based out of), your role as R&D Project Engineer will be to liaise between the two and ensure that designs from overseas are manufactured correctly in the Wakefield plant.
You will need to be comfortable reviewing engineering drawings and BOMs to ensure they are fit for purpose when released to the manufacturing team, and have previous experience of providing technical support to production, assembly, test, and quality teams involved in product manufacture. You need CAD skills and a lot of common sense!
This is an opportunity to join a market-leading business that operates on prestigious and lucrative projects. As R&D Project Engineer, you will have a varied role working alongside end user clients, a matrix-managed engineering function, and manufacturing staff. You will receive a good basic salary and benefits package and work on large scale projects of key importance to the business from day one. There will be significant travel as part of this role, with a few trips each month, some of which will be international.
