Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Planned Maintenance

The Role: Junior or QS or Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor specializing in social housing planned maintenance, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of maintenance projects, ensuring budget control, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cost Management - Prepare & manage budgets, cost plans, and financial reports (Jobs range from £300 - £3,000).
  2. Procurement - Oversee tendering, evaluate bids & negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  3. Valuations & Payments - Prepare valuations & authorize payments to subcontractors.
  4. Risk Management - Identify & mitigate financial risks associated with maintenance projects.
  5. Compliance - Ensure all work meets industry regulations and client requirements.
  6. Client Liaison - Maintain strong communication with clients to address financial queries.
  7. Reporting - Provide regular financial updates to senior management.

What We're Looking For:
  1. Education - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. Experience - Proven experience in social housing quantity surveying with a stable career history.
  3. Skills - Strong analytical, negotiation & communication skills. Proficiency in Excel & cost management software.
  4. Attributes - Detail-oriented, proactive & able to work independently and within a friendly, supportive team.
