Senior Quantity Surveyor with 5 years practical experience to work in Walthamstow. This role is commutable across the city and the surrounding areas. Career opportunities are limitless. We are looking for someone who is prepared to go out on site liaising with the supervisors and clients, carrying out practical duties involving measuring on site, noting variations, additions, and omissions. Supervising/mentoring 1 QS and 1 Asst QS.

Role outline:

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have worked in a similar industry with experience of managing people and working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects.

  • To be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Commercial Manager.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and client counterparts as well as managing members of your team to attain their full potential.
  • Manage commercial projects from pre-contract stage through to completion, ensuring contracts returns are maximised, with complete forecasting across all within your works.
  • Engaging and managing sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications.
  • Support the production of monthly CVR's.
  • Produce both internal and client forecasts.
  • Production and substantiation through to agreement of associated Final Accounts.
  • Ensure all company and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk.
  • Work with your team and ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to revenue collection.

Salary package:

£70,000 to £80,000 negotiable. Self-employed option available.

A car/allowance is available with this role and therefore you must hold a full UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points - You must be able to travel across the region of work.

Bonus scheme operates and a contributory pension scheme. Ongoing training and mentoring.

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Surveying preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical ability.
  • Process driven with strong commercial awareness and good negotiation skills.
