Job description

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Project Procurement Manager

Duration: 8 months with scope for extension

Location: Swindon

Reference Number: NA

Rate: Open to negotiation (Ltd, CIS or Umbrella)

Our client, who is one of the UK's leading companies in the field of renewable energy, is looking for either a QS or Project Procurement professional to work on a contract basis in their offices in Swindon.

Scope of Duties
  1. Optimise supply chain measures for innovative projects in the development, construction and/or operational phases.
  2. Develop and execute sourcing, tender assessment, contract negotiation and contract execution strategies.
  3. Develop, negotiate and apply appropriate contract terms and conditions to suit project activities.
  4. Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding/knowledge of supply chain in identified market sectors.
  5. Lead highly complex negotiations with external suppliers and represent RWETI when meeting/negotiating with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Optimising the price vs performance ratio and leverage market synergies.
  7. Claim and deviation management throughout project execution phase.
  8. Contract management across a variety of contract forms (MF/1, NEC4, FIDIC).
  9. Ensure that commercial project issues are addressed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Establish and maintain strong working/strategic relationships with project team and relevant business stakeholders.
  11. Contribute to the creation and operation of project procurement initiatives/continuous improvement.
  12. Frequent travel to project sites required (mostly within the UK).
Requirements
  1. Qualified Quantity Surveyor (RICS).
  2. Significant experience in construction/infrastructure or complex procurement projects (electricity generation sector is a bonus).
  3. Proven capability/skills in complex CAPEX & OPEX negotiations and contract management during project execution.
  4. Highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills; capable of operating to tight timescales with minimum guidance and able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  5. Ability to influence and manage across multiple international cultures and a geographically diverse portfolio.
  6. Ability to influence and manage across multi-disciplinary teams.
  7. Internationally oriented, fully committed, flexible and ready to travel to meet the business requirements.
  8. Very good communication skills in English required with German and Dutch seen as an added benefit.
