Job description

As a Quantity Surveyor in housing, you will manage all costs related to the construction and maintenance of residential housing projects. You will be responsible for estimating costs, managing budgets, procuring materials and services, and ensuring that the project is completed efficiently, within the budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
    Prepare detailed cost estimates for housing projects, including materials, labor, and overheads.
    Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met throughout the project lifecycle.
    Provide cost planning and control services, including cash flow forecasting and risk analysis.
  2. Tendering and Procurement:
    Prepare tender documents and manage the tendering process for contractors and suppliers.
    Evaluate contractor and supplier bids, providing recommendations and ensuring best value for the client.
    Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  3. Cost Control and Monitoring:
    Monitor project costs and ensure the project remains within the allocated budget.
    Implement and manage systems for cost reporting and change management.
    Conduct regular cost audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  4. Contract Administration:
    Prepare, review, and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    Oversee the administration of the project's contracts and ensure that all parties comply with the terms and conditions.
    Handle any variations to the contract, managing changes to scope, cost, and schedule.
  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, including project progress updates, cost analysis, and forecasting.
    Ensure all project documentation, such as invoices, receipts, and change orders, is organized and filed.
