Quantity Surveyor Construction

Straight-Line Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on sites in York and Carlisle.

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

1. Preparing bill of quantities, budgeting, and cost control for projects
2. Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations
3. Managing and negotiating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
4. Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress, cost, quality etc
5. Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met
6. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry
2. Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)
3. Willingness to commute
4. Valid driving licence

The job is a permanent site-based position in York. The candidate will have to travel to Carlisle once a week.

This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience but will include a company car.
