ROLE: Quantity Surveyor (Construction)
LOCATION: Newport, South Wales
SALARY: £50,000 - £55,000

Job Summary for a Quantity Surveyor
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team! If you're skilled in cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration - especially in refurbishment, repairs, and fit-out projects - this role could be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor

  1. Preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects.
  2. Managing budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Handling contract negotiations, variations, and cost reporting.
  4. Identifying and supporting new business & tender opportunities.
  5. Liaising with subcontractors & suppliers to ensure value for money.
  6. Conducting site visits and ensuring compliance with quality & safety standards.

Requirements of a Quantity Surveyor

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in Construction (refurb & fit-out preferred).
  2. Strong commercial & financial management skills.
  3. Ability to travel to project sites across Wales & England.
  4. Proficiency in surveying software & Microsoft Office.
  5. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (RICS Membership is a plus!).
