Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor


Location: Dorset - Potential Hybrid working

Salary: up to £65,000 with car allowance

Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a well-established and respected organisation, specialising in the delivery of complex steel construction projects valued up to £20 million.

Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of the commercial management across multiple high-value projects. This includes overseeing cost control, valuations, payment entitlements, and contractual negotiations with clients and supply chain partners. A key focus of this role is to ensure accurate cost/value performance monitoring and timely internal reporting.

Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts is essential, along with the ability to manage all commercial and contractual elements of the construction lifecycle.

Applicant Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction or steelwork sector

  • A background working for either a main contractor or large sub-contractor

  • Demonstrated ability to manage valuations, payments, and contractual negotiations

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in cost management and reporting

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills

  • Self-motivated with a proactive and collaborative approach
