Quantity Surveyor

A superb opportunity has arisen for a QS to join a well-established main contractor based in Dorset with over 50 years trading history.
Due to an ever-increasing workload/order book well into 2025 with over £10 million of orders already secured, they have decided now is the time to recruit an additional QS.
They are being very open-minded on this role, so you might well be an Intermediate level QS or ideally a stand-alone QS looking for your next step up to take on several key accounts seeking a new challenge within the built environment.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Preparing applications to main contractors.
2. Preparing certificates to sub-contractors.
3. Obtaining quotations and processing orders.
4. Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour.
5. Assigning work to sub-contractors.
6. Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments.
7. Submitting regular budget reports.
8. On-going cost analysis.
9. Identifying and weighing up commercial risks.
10. Ensuring projects meet legal and quality standards.
11. Attending site visits.
12. Provide support to Commercial Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

1. Full manual driving licence.
2. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
3. An RICS-approved Degree or HNC / Equivalent experience in a job.
4. Strong Excel skills.
5. Exceptional attention to detail.
6. Organisational and project management skills.
7. Numerical and data analysis skills.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication.
