EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Quality Technician / CMM Inspector to join a precision engineering company located in Tamworth working on a permanent basis.

EMBS Engineering is working with a long-standing, prestigious precision engineering client, located in Tamworth who are looking to recruit a skilled Quality Technician / CMM Inspector on a permanent basis.

The business is a leading specialist in manufacturing complex, safety-critical components for a number of high profile markets.

Due to continued success and further growth, our client requires additional support within their quality department.

As a Quality Technician / CMM Inspector, you will predominantly support the quality department with internal activities related to part inspection. You will prepare and record inspection reports and all related documentation in line with company requirements.

Your responsibilities as a Quality Technician / CMM Inspector will include:
  1. Creating inspection reports
  2. Review non-conformance of parts
  3. Review inspection of parts from suppliers to ensure they conform
  4. Perform Equipment TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance)
  5. Update the quality system
  6. Inspection of parts using manual standard gauging as well as CMM with PC DMIS software

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
  1. Quality Technician / CMM Inspector experience
  2. Strong experience in metrology with a precision engineering environment
  3. Confidence reading technical drawings and interpreting geometric features/tolerances
  4. Strong CMM experience using PC DMIS software - ability to operate as a minimum, programming experience is highly desirable
  5. Inspected small to medium-sized detailed components which have been supplied into; Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Petrochemical, Defence etc.
  6. Knowledge of roundness and surface finish test equipment
  7. Strong understanding of GD&T and metrology requirements
  8. Worked with various materials including; aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron
  9. Ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment - shadowgraphs, verniers, micrometres etc.
