Company OverviewSmart Manufacturing Solutions are currently recruiting a quality technician on behalf of one of our clients based in Stockton On Tees. As a Quality Technician you will be an integral member of the team with requirements to work across multiple sites, you will be responsible for maintaining all day-to-day activities independently whilst proactively promoting continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Completion of product inspections inline with internal and external requirements; covering goods-in, final inspection, new parts, internal and external non-conformances, and containments.
- Verifying product conformance with the operation and application of various traditional inspection equipment, utilising different inspection methods and techniques.
- Using engineering drawings to perform technical inspections for new/prototype parts through our NPI system; producing documentation (ISIR / F&F / PPAP) for relevant stakeholders.
- Completion of daily process audits and random process inspections, challenging process failures and/or weaknesses, organise and contribute to the resolution of identified failures.
- Provide technical support to production in order to maintain production, customer requirements and standards.
- Produce 8D reports and issue to relevant stakeholders in line with Company KPI's.
- Resolve internal, supplier and customer non-conformances by methodologically investigating the manufacturing process to determine the root cause, through application of investigation & improvement methods such as 4M’s, 5 whys, cause and effect diagrams.
- Design and develop process controls such as pins/jigs/template/check sheets/SOP’s/working instructions.
- Assist in maintaining Quality Management System to accreditation ISO9001 & 45001 by performing internal audits and process improvements in line with Katmex KPIs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities utilizing methodologies such as TQM, Kaizen, 5S, 6 Sigma.
Requirements- Minimum of 5 years experience working within an industrial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working within a quality role.
- City and Guilds or equivalent level 4 or HNC/D.
- Good understanding of quality methodologies.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Display competence with the application of Quality tools such as 5 whys, 4Ms, and Cause & Effect diagrams to aid root cause analysis.
- Faro Arm Trained - preferred.
- Internal auditor to ISO 9001 & 45001 - preferred.
Working HoursDayshift - Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:15, Friday 06:00 to 12:45
Backshift - Monday to Thursday 14:15 to 22:30, Friday 12:45 to 19:30
