Quality Technical Engineer

Sure Start Staff are looking for experienced technically skilled Quality Technical Engineer to join our busy manufacturing client based in the Bolton area on a permanent basis.

Hours: Mon - Thurs - 7.30am - 4pm, Fri - 7.30am - 1pm

About the Job

The successful candidate will support the Quality Team and Quality Section Leader with implementation/maximisation of new technologies, equipment and software, including initial setup, shop-floor roll-out, CMM programming, ongoing Quality Planning and provide shop-floor Quality based engineering technical support.

Core Responsibilities

1. Provide Technical Quality Engineering support pre and during manufacture.
2. Provide advice and solutions for all issues relating to quality control within the production areas.
3. Administrating, implementing and maintaining Quality based software.
4. Ensure all Inspection equipment is maintained to the appropriate standards for operational requirements.
5. Apply new technologies to completion of documentation relating to Quality Control including Inspection reports and Certificates of Conformity, PPAP Information, ISIR's, 8D reporting.
6. Make key decisions over Re-work, Scrap being required or not - Communicate to Production Manager & Plant Manager as and when required.
7. Ensure all production inspection requirements are met daily.
8. Dealing with NCRs relating to Customer Complaints and Quality Control Issues in conjunction with Quality Section Leader/Production Manager/SHEQ & Compliance Manager.
9. Optimised / well-structured CMM / Quality Equipment Programming to maximise coverage and usage of inspection equipment and be fully compatible with integrated HighQA Quality software.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills required

1. CMM / Quality Equipment Programming Skills (Keyence, Mitutoyo MCOSMOS, Faro programming experience).
2. CAD skills (Auto-Desk Fusion preferable).
3. Experience: With an engineering/manufacturing role.
4. Engineering Qualification.
5. Previous experience of Quality management.
6. A good level of physical fitness is required to be comfortable working on your feet for long periods and ability to complete some manual handling tasks.
