Quality Project Engineer

What you’ll do…

As Quality Project Engineer you will be supporting a cross functional team ensuring quality is designed into our products and processes from very initial research phase. You will be part of a team of engineers ensuring reliability of product and processes to minimise both risk and impact of failure, use clear data analysis techniques to make quality recommendations across the business. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of 2-3 days in the office.

Reporting into the Product Quality Development Manager, you will:

  • Represent Quality & the “Voice of the customer” in the development of product and processes in the industrialization of products.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams during the development of deliverables through the APQP process – e.g. Process flows, FMEA, Control plan.
  • Utilise lessons learnt during product development processes to ensure continuous improvement of the Quality, APQP and NPI procedures.
  • Support and develop Control of production (COP) requirements and audits.

We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The team you’ll join…

The Quality Engineering team is a dynamic group working across three areas - company quality, product quality and plant quality. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating and implementing new processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.

What you’ll bring…

  • Experience in the application of Customer APQP requirements.
  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Quality related subject.
  • Certified 6 sigma Green Belt
  • Core Tools Certified (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP / Control Plan)
