Company Overview - Quality Manager (Aerospace)
Our Client are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join their highly valued team on a full-time basis.
As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality management system within the aerospace division, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company-specific quality protocols. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring product excellence, and fostering a culture of quality throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
Quality Manager (Aerospace) Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100/AS9120, ISO 9001).
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee quality control and quality assurance activities across all production stages, ensuring products meet design specifications and safety standards.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues effectively.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into the manufacturing process.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen to optimise processes and enhance product quality.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare and present detailed quality reports and metrics to senior management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards in materials and components.
Quality Manager (Aerospace) Skills and Experience:
- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in a technical or engineering subject
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager. This will preferably be within the Aerospace/Defence or Automotive Industry
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100/ AS9120, ISO 9001, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of quality control tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, SPC, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
- Experience with audits, non-conformance management, and CAPA processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in quality management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
