Job Description

Quality Manager - Infrastructure

Location - Leiston, Suffolk

Purpose of the role:

As Quality Manager on our brand new £100m+ major highways project in Leiston, Suffolk, you will act as a key member of the Assurance Team to ensure all quality systems are in place and properly executed for the project.

You will ensure compliance with the Business Management System (BMS) & ISO 9001, completion of regular internal / external auditing, and ensuring continuous improvement to quality systems.

What you will be doing:

  • Set up and manage audit programs for internal and external audits (projects, departments, supply chain, clients, certification bodies).
  • Maintain a trained auditor list and notify auditors of upcoming audit requirements.
  • Prepare, conduct, and report audits, including trend analysis and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse data for Management Systems Review and produce a Perception Report.
  • Lead quality meetings, manage BMS changes, and develop/maintain the Infrastructure BU-specific BMS section.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders including supply chain, and third parties.
  • Support pre-construction team during tender preparation and attend related meetings.
  • Assist with the development, review, and amendment of Quality and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Support the Non-Conformance process and assess Builders Profile submissions.
  • Attend GT Group quality meetings and contribute to the development of group quality initiatives.

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of Business Management Systems and contractual documentation.
  • Ability to lead internal auditors and provide quality assurance guidance to management.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude, managing teams to address quality and contractual issues.
  • Proficient in Office 365, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable qualification in Civil Engineering (HND or Degree).
  • Hold a relevant CSCS card.
  • Practitioner of Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), working towards Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI or FCQI) status.
  • Minimum qualifications: Internal Auditor and working towards ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
