Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Full-Time Permanent Hours: Monday-Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm
Expected to assist with early and late hours from time to time.
Position Overview:
Experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. Working for a very established and reputable manufacturing firm in the Joinery Construction sector, dealing with commercial joinery projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes, overseeing continued compliance and embedding across the business.
- Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and potential while ensuring efficiency.
- Manage the audit program as well as supplier development and improvement, playing a key role in ensuring project deliveries.
- Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility.
- Lead a correct-at-source and problem-solving methodology (Lean) and lead the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on Quality activities.
- Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance.
- Ensure all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
- Respond to customer complaints, putting in containment actions, conducting full analysis, and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
- Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
- Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
- Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
- Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
- Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
- Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
- Produce written reports and make presentations, ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
- Any other reasonable duties that might arise to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Location: Easy commute from Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Messingham, Hatfield, Thorne.
