Main Responsibilities
- To undertake line management responsibilities for the LDH Quality Control team based at the Sproughton site.
- To manage the LDH quality management system and ensure it is fit for purpose particularly in regards to meeting the requirements of BRC “Agents and Brokers”.
- To manage the LDH technical and quality relationship with all warehousing and transport sub-contractors.
- To monitor findings of the QC team and feed back to suppliers as issues arise.
- To lead the design and implementation of new QC reporting software.
- To support the activities of the warehouse and contribute to the warehouse quality management system.
- To support the LDH logistics team with investigation of incident reports in order to reduce occurrences.
- To take the lead in arranging rework with internal and external sub-contractors.
- To contribute to the technical strategy of the business through delivery of the Quality Plan.
- To undertake additional work or projects at the discretion of the Technical Director.
- To lead and act as key contact for pest control services provided by subcontractors.
- To conduct regular warehouse audits and produce accurate audit reports for the sub-contractors.
- To champion product quality and action any areas of concern.
- To update and maintain knowledge of specific industry issues.
- To meet the requirements set by the customer for warehousing and transport; safety; legal and good quality standards.
- To support the Technical function where required.
- To keep the QC team’s food safety and health & safety training up to date and documented.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2-3+ years experience in similar role.
- Basic knowledge of legal requirements for food manufacturing.
- Qualification or experience in food manufacturing/technology.
- Basic knowledge of factory environment auditing.
- Attention to detail.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate team.
- Able to meet deadlines to a high standard.
- Strong ethical standards.
- Microsoft office skills, word, excel.
