We provide equipment as well as services such as calibration, sub-contract measurement, training and metrology consultancy.

Job Role

A Quality Manager ensures that products, services, and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. They develop and implement quality control systems, lead teams to maintain and improve quality performance, and work closely with the service department, engineering, and compliance departments to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS).
2. Establish and enforce quality control procedures throughout the Sempre Group Ltd.
3. Monitor compliance with industry standards (ISO, UKAS).
4. Lead internal and external audits, ensuring regulatory compliance.
5. Investigate quality issues, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions via the non-conformance process.
6. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet requirements for new suppliers to be added.
7. Collaborate with service, engineering, orders and accounts for process improvements.
8. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality.
9. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
10. Responsible for creating and maintaining uncertainty budgets for the appropriate service activity in line with our UKAS scope/accreditation.
11. Maintain and arrange calibration schedules for the calibration artefacts used within the service department.

Validation of Uncertainty Budgets

1. Compare against known standards or reference values.
2. Perform inter-laboratory comparisons or repeatability tests.
3. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 - (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement), or industry-specific standards.

Documentation and Approval relevant to our ISO accreditation

1. Record all sources, assumptions, calculations, and justifications.
2. Validate the uncertainty budget through audits, expert reviews, or regulatory approvals.

Required Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
2. Experience: 5+ years in a quality-related role, preferably within the service industry.
3. Certifications: ISO9001, UKAS17025, ISO10360-7, ISO10360-12, and safe contractor accreditation.
4. Experience with regulatory compliance and auditing processes.
5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
6. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
7. Experience of working in an ISO accredited laboratory.
8. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Uncertainty Budgets: Able to identify and create sources of uncertainty to include:
10. Systematic and random errors.
11. Environmental factors.
12. Instrument accuracy.
13. Operator influence.
14. Calibration and reference standards.

Desirable

1. Experience working in a commercial calibration environment.
2. Familiarity with industry regulations (e.g., FDA for medical devices, GMP for pharmaceuticals).
