For over 60 years, Reed’s engineering and manufacturing specialists have been recruiting professionals like you for permanent, temporary and contract positions. We are currently working with an organisation in South Essex who are looking to hire a Quality Manager.

Our client offers advanced high-precision manufacturing services across the UK and Europe, and have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join one of their sites in South Essex.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and uphold the Quality Management System (AS9100).
  2. Assist in defect reviews, corrective actions, and resolving customer quality concerns.
  3. Address supplier quality issues and generate necessary reports.
  4. Provide quality training and mentorship.
  5. Complete First Article Inspection Reports.
  6. Examine failure trends.
  7. Prepare for and conduct internal and external audits.
  8. Develop quality metrics and KPIs.
  9. Collaborate with Inspection, Engineering, and Production teams.
  10. Ensure timely rework of parts following investigations.
  11. Approve Certificates of Conformance for deliveries.
  12. Engage in Continuous Improvement projects.
  13. Perform additional duties as required.

Skills & Experience required:

  1. In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
  2. Aerospace / defence experience.
  3. Proven experience in a similar role.
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
