Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, highly analytical Technician to join our Quality Assurance Department. As the on the floor inspector, you will uphold the Quality Standard set forth by ISO:9001 and IATF. This will involve a mix of on floor roving checks at each production station throughout the building to ensure all proper processes are being followed, as well as office and computer work aimed at verifying all documentation and processes to create an acceptable part.

Responsibilities:

  • Qualify first piece entries following production run set-ups.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Assist Quality Lead in the creation of PPAP and PFMEA documentation.
  • Audit finished products for non-conformities.
  • Utilize various lab equipment such as CMM machines, microscopes, optical comparators, depth and height gauges, as well as calipers and micrometers.
  • Train all production associates to set quality requirements on a job-by-job basis.
  • Complete routine auditing of the production floor to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming raw materials and subcomponents from various vendors.
  • Document inspection outcomes and complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain collection data programs and check sheets pertaining to non-conforming products.
  • Perform full-scale inspection when non-conforming products are identified.

Requirements:

  • Three to five years related experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints while utilizing the myriad of tools listed throughout responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with an eye for detail.

The desired candidate will display a working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards and have extensive experience utilizing handheld and automated measurement equipment.
