Department: Operations

Reports to: Plant Manager

Salary: £45-50k

Role:

As the QHSE manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of Quality, Health & Safety and the monitoring of Environmental factors within the Company, including but not limited to all risk assessments, safety walk arounds, first aid, and fire safety. You will be the first point of contact for all Quality issues for both Customers and Suppliers.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for maintaining accreditation to ISO 9001.
  2. Developing the QMS to ensure it is adequate and effective.
  3. Responsible for the maintenance and control of internal and external standards to their latest issue.
  4. Provide practical solutions to quality, health & safety, or laboratory problems and promote continuous improvement.
  5. Ensuring that the programme of internal audits is adhered to and that they demonstrate the adequacy of the QMS.
  6. Ensuring that all customer complaints/corrective action requests are dealt with in a timely manner and that the issues are reported as required.
  7. Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policies where required.
  8. Carrying out risk assessments including but not limited to COSHH and return to work.
  9. Liaising with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations.
  10. Investigating accidents on sites and producing subsequent reports and recommendations.
  11. Carrying out site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  12. Ensuring that health and safety training is completed in line with legislation and that we are abiding by all local health and safety requirements.
  13. Any other ad hoc tasks that are required in connection to your role.

KPI’s:

  1. Number of accidents or near misses.
  2. Number and type of quality issues.
  3. Number of Nonconformities by Supplier.

Essential requirements for the role:

  1. High organisational skills.
  2. Being proactive and flexible.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Previous experience.
  5. Engineering Background.

The following are desired:

  1. Ability to prioritise workload.

Education:

Minimum HNC.
