Job description

Quality, Governance & Compliance Support Officer
Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a motivated person to join the Surgery, Critical Care & Diagnostics Care Group Governance workstream. You will report to the Quality, Governance & Compliance Officer and provide essential admin support, ensuring safe and effective governance processes.

You will help coordinate the Surgery, Critical Care & Diagnostics Clinical Quality Group (CQG) meetings and assist clinical teams with project support related to governance activities. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care while ensuring alignment with Trust Governance processes.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Quality, Governance & Compliance Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide administrative support to the QGC Officer and OQC Lead.
  • Administer risks, incidents, and other governance-related matters.
  • Record and create detailed reports using the hospital's Datix reporting system.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the Care Group Clinical Quality Group meetings.
  • Take accurate minutes during family governance meetings.
  • Coordinate different meetings and forums.
  • Monitor the progress of governance actions.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
  • Recognised qualification in maths and English e.g. GCSE grade A - C or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience of producing and presenting reports
  • Experience of designing training and development documents including end user guides
  • Experience of supporting administration and business management in a busy and changing environment
  • Experience of using a range of different software applications
  • Experience of presenting to groups of people
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Experience of working within the NHS
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and report information clearly
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a range of different stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Evidence of achieving deadlines
