Job Description

Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will be assisting the Quality Director in the management and control of the Quality System in line with UK CAA Part 145, EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120, & ISO 17025 and Safety Management System requirements. You will be focusing on product quality/safety, supporting quality assurance activities, conducting audits, and managing the organisation’s Quality Management System and Safety Management System. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Management of the Technical Library including:

  1. Monthly review of technical data issued by the major supported OEMs.
  2. Auditing of OEM technical data including CMMs, IPCs, service bulletins, service letters and other associated documents to ensure that they remain current.
  3. Obtaining OEM technical data when required via review, audit or requested by the workshop or Sales Team.
  4. Controlling technical data within the Organisation’s ERP system & technical library.

Warranty Investigations:

  1. Assessing the validity of units received against warranty claims, based on previous handling & other factors.
  2. Providing the customer with the necessary information to qualify reasons for acceptance or rejection of their warranty claim.

Auditing:

  1. Manage the Organisation’s internal audit plan, covering product, process & safety audits.
  2. Carry out audits against the regulations & standards held by the organization: CAA/EASA/FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120 & ISO 17025.
  3. Manage audit findings to closure with the owner of the finding/s.
  4. Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  5. Support external audits carried out by airworthiness authorities, certification bodies & customers.
  6. Manage external audit findings to closure, including liaison with the external auditor & the provision of evidence to verify effective closure.

Corrective Actions:

  1. Raise corrective actions requirements resulting from customer feedback or supplied nonconforming product.
  2. Define the corrective actions in conjunction with the relevant manager.
  3. Manage the corrective actions to closure with the owner of the corrective action/s.
  4. Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

Vendor Management:

  1. Manage the Organisation’s approved vendors list, including the approval of new vendors & the removal of underperforming vendors.
  2. Manage nonconforming product & any resulting corrective actions requested from the vendor.
  3. Manage KPIs related to vendor performance.

Quality Engineer Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality engineering or a related role.
  3. Previous experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC) is desirable.
  4. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
